The Tiger Multi-Tray System wormery is an innovative design in worm
composting. An
unusual and fascinating
take on recycling, this product easily turns your organic waste into
something valuable –
worm compost.
It is a must have item for anyone looking for a simple and odourless
way to
recycle food waste.
The clever design of the Tiger Wormery allows the trays to rest on the
compost and not on each other, so as the worms eat through the waste,
the compost compacts down.
Easily convert organic waste into useful garden feed
With
an interesting design that resembles a bee hive, The Tiger Wormery
Multi-Tray System has an option of 3 or 4 composting trays (the
pictures show the 3-tray model). It is very
simple to use and gives easy access
to the valuable compost without making a mess. Once the top tray
is full, the bottom tray should be ready to harvest both a quality
compost
and a
nutritious liquid feed
that can be used on plants both indoor and out, including both your
vegetable patch and lawn.
Why a Wormery?
Wormeries are
incredibly simple and
natural waste converters that take cooked and uncooked food waste,
shredded newspaper, cardboard, tea bags and egg cartons (or other
similar items) and divert them away from the bin. In the UK we
send nearly 7 million tonnes of food waste or peelings to landfill! So
do your bit to cut this volume down
in an interesting way.
A simple and clean way of producing your own compost
Using the Tiger Wormery Multi-Tray System is an almost
odourless process as
the worms eat the waste right away rather than letting it decompose. If
you do smell something from your wormery it is most likely to be a
healthy composty smell that is a sign you are on your way to making a
beautiful compost and
a liquid feed (sometimes referred to as 'Black Gold'). It takes only a
couple of weeks to compost a whole handful of waste and over a year you
can fill and harvest one whole bin of nutritious compost by collecting
from each tray more frequently. The
liquid feed that settles at the bottom of the Tiger Wormery can be
collected on average every 3 or 4 weeks.
Benefits for you, your garden and the globe
Not only does the Tiger Wormery
cut
down on landfill waste
(in turn reducing methane levels in the air which lead to global
warming) but helpfully slims down your bin contents and means you are
less likely to create a polluting bonfire either. For your garden,
the Tiger Wormery provides nutrients that mean you can water less and
replaces the use of chemical
fertilisers and pesticides. In addition the worm compost also
increases the rate of growth and the overall health of your plants.
Made
from recycled materials, the Tiger Wormery includes an integrated
stand,
drainage tray, 'fast flow' pull tap, matching lid and handle.
It's simple to get started because
the Tiger Wormery also comes with an illustrated instruction guide and
everything else you could need to
get
started such as: Coir worm bedding, shredded paper, anti-acid
lime mix
and even the worms (Baby Tiger Worms).
Perfect for any garden the
Tiger Wormery is available in two sizes and also in three colours,
Black, British Racing Green or Terracotta.
