IntelliPanel
(Reference #CSIMP205)

Automatically powers peripheral equipment when the desktop computer is switched on. Recommended by the Energy Saving Trust and has received a number of excellent reviews.

Specification:

- Full range Auto Calibration - this unit will automatically determine the on and off power level of any desktop computer to automatically switch power to peripheral equipment only when the desktop computer is switched on and in use. A 5 second delay in powering peripherals on/off allows printers to park before power is shut down.

- Zero-crossing detection - Automatically determines when the power supplied to the peripherals is at an optimum level for creating the least amount of stress to components. Switching at this point, the Intellipanel™ ensures that less electrical noise is emitted in the form of interference to other electrical products such as the radio and television.

- Quality Surge Protection - will dissipate surges of up to 532 joules of energy/a peak current of 31,500 amps and includes thermal fuse in case of a catastrophic spike.

- Telephone/Modem/Broadband Surge Protection - High quality varistors give the best possible protection against surge.

- Telephone/Modem Splitter-one input line split into two, one for a telephone and one for a modem.

- Lowest standby power of 0.4 watts.

- Saves an average 35 watts per hour depending on the number of connected peripherals. This product can pay for itself in less than a year of use.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need special software to use any OneClick device?
No, simply plug your desktop computer into the MASTER SOCKET and plug your monitor, scanner, printer, speakers and any other peripherals into the remaining sockets.

  • Can I plug anything other than a desktop computer into the MASTER SOCKET?
All OneClick products are versatile so can provide automatic switching in a variety of applications (other than laptop computers), in addition to a desktop computer, by linking a master unit and its supplementary devices e.g. audio visual hardware.

  • Does switching my computer and peripherals on and off reduce the lifespan of the system?
Electronic components have improved to the extent that the expansion and contraction created by switching on and off does not compromise performance, reduce lifespan or increase wear. In fact, some printers and scanners are connected to the mains via a mains transformer, which should never be plugged into the mains when the unit is not in operation. With OneClick this problem disappears.
  • The OneClick device switches power on and off to my monitor and peripherals after a delay of a few seconds, is this normal?
Yes, the OneClick device senses the rise in current and only switches peripherals on when it is sure the computer is in use. Computers have switch mode power supplies where the current can fluctuate quite rapidly. During the 'shut down' process a five second delay allows time for scanners and printers to 'park' before power is switched off.

  • Is there any peripheral item that I should not use with the OneClick device?
Items such as fax machines, which require power without interruption are not recommended; however, always refer to your manufacturers' handbook for any special instructions.

  • Does the OneClick device have surge protection?
Yes, it has surge protection for the desktop computer, all peripherals, and the telephone / modem splitter (where applicable).

  • Can I use the OneClick device with a laptop computer?
Laptop computers have internal batteries and this creates very wide fluctuations in power demands as the internal battery charges, which could cause the Intelligent Mains Panel to inadvertently switch off or on, and is therefore not recommended with laptop computers. Instead, try this Intellipanel designed specifically for laptops.

  • What is the life expectancy of the OneClick device?
An independent report commissioned, by Powergen and conducted by ITS Research, found that the OneClick products should operate for approximately 1million operations.

  • Can I use the OneClick device for any other purpose?
The OneClick device has a multiplicity of domestic applications, including; audio/visual links in home cinema and HiFi, to professional applications in TV, cinema and sound production where power links between multimedia equipment can benefit from automatic management of power resources.

  • Can OneClick damage my computer?
Under no circumstances can any OneClick product damage your computer, as power is never denied to the computer processor of your system. Your work is always safe.

  • If I use some of the power saving options on my computer, such as Hibernation Mode, how will the OneClick device react?
All OneClick devices automatically detect the low power state and so shut down all peripherals connected to the panel. As soon as you re-activate the computer you peripherals will automatically come to life.

  • One of my peripherals switches off but does not switch back on, why is this?
In very few instances, some peripherals have soft switches, which automatically default to off in the event of a power cut.
