CarbonZero Loft Roll is the UK’s
first carbon neutral loft insulation, allowing you to save money and
save the environment (both in use and in manufacture). With loft
insulation installed,
you’ll
pay less for your
energy bill and reduce your carbon footprint. With
CarbonZero all carbon emissions
released into the atmosphere during manufacture are offset making it a
truly green product.
Eco-Friendly
By choosing CarbonZero Loft Roll, you’ll be helping the environment in
two ways. Firstly, you’ll need less energy to heat your house. This
will reduce your annual carbon dioxide emissions by about one tonne.
Secondly, you’ll be supporting carbon neutral production methods. Knauf
has modified its manufacturing techniques for CarbonZero Loft Roll to
have low environmental impact. In addition, all carbon emissions
released into the atmosphere during manufacture are offset by Knauf by
giving funds to
tree
planting and renewable energy projects.
Cost Effective
You’ll save money too.
On average, a household that installs loft
insulation saves £205 per year off their heating bills. That means a
DIY installation costing £300 will pay for itself in less than 18
months.
If you’ve already got some loft insulation and you’re installing a top
up, you can expect to save around £60 per year. A DIY top-up costing
£200 would pay for itself within four years.
Easy to Install
CarbonZero Loft Roll is easy to install. It is lightweight and
flexible. Carbonzero is produced for use with timber joists at
400mm and 600mm centres so it comes partially perforated allowing it
easily to be cut into 2 rolls of 570mm width
or
3 rolls of 380mm width.
CarbonZero Loft Roll is made from mineral wool. Mineral wool
insulation is designed for use at ceiling level in lofts with pitched
roofs. It can also be used to insulate floors and partition walls –
useful for both warmth and stopping noise travelling. Mineral wool
insulation is non-combustible – so it provides protection
against
the spread of fire.
It
will not rot, smell, or encourage the growth of
fungi, mould or bacteria.
This product is classified as zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and
zero Global Warming Potential (GWP). It does not damage the ozone layer
or contribute to global warming at any point during its lifecycle.
Basic installation instructions are included (and
see
our guide). For DIY installation, you might also need your
own
DIY manual.
