The
Gemini 120 Energiser
is the largest in the Gemini family and suits long runs of electric
fencing of up to 18 kilometres. It is the perfect addition to the
poultry kits we supply to get the current flowing through your nets.
Simply plug the energiser into the mains or hook it up to a leisure
battery (see below) and your electric fencing becomes a fully
functioning protector of your poultry.
How does it work?
Your
poultry
net can be electrified with this Gemini 120 energiser. You can
run it from the mains or from a battery as follows:
- Mains: The energiser comes with a lead that connects the
energiser to the mains via a normal three square pin plug. This
is the most reliable source of power to your electric fence, but
the mains supply needs to be kept in a dry environment.
- Alternatively, connect the energiser to a 12V
rechargeable leisure battery. These are like car batteries,
but whereas a car battery is designed to give a short-lived
burst of high energy to start a car, a leisure battery gives a
longer-lasting charge of low energy to keep your electric
fencing live. They can be bought from motoring shops (e.g.
Halfords) or you can buy them from camping or agricultural
stores.
If you plan to locate your energiser away from your electric fence
then you will need an
HT
Lead
Out Cable (insulated cable for outdoor use), which connects
your energiser to your netting and carries the charge.
N.b. You will need to buy the HT Lead
Out Cable and battery separately.
Safety
The energiser
must be housed
indoors when connected to the mains like all similar charge
devices. However, it is weatherproof and suitable for connection
outdoors to a leisure battery. This is a high power energiser
capable of charging up to five poultry nets.
Suitability
- The energiser will charge up to 18km of electric netting
- It can be wall mounted, mounted on a stake, or on an earth
stake (provided with some models of poultry kit)
- Stores 2.4 Joules of charge and outputs 1.2 Joules
- Output voltage 8.1kV (or 4.8kV under heavy load)
- Gives a battery (not supplied) life of up to 3 weeks assuming
85Ah battery
- Power consumption: 2.6W
